Smart Power Solutions is based in the thriving city of Leeds in the UK and was founded in 2001 by two power electronics engineers who still 100% own and manage the company. We specialise in the design and manufacture of intelligent high-efficiency power electronics system for a diverse range of applications including electric vehicles, smart grid and low carbon generation.
We are currently expanding our team and are looking for degree (or higher) qualified electronics hardware development engineers with 4+ years of recent industrial experience in a relevant industry (variable speed motor drives and switched mode power supplies for instance). Knowledge of all or some of the following would be a particular advantage: Power semiconductors and support circuitry over a wide range of voltages and currents, power switching topologies for both motor drives and static power conversion, signal level design of both analogue and digital circuitry for measurement/control/protection, design for safety / EMC / Manufacture, PCB design using Mentor PADS, simulation of circuit and system behaviour using SPICE, PLECS, SIMULINK and MathCAD and typical ISO9001 quality systems / processes.
